The most important thing that the person should be familiar with are the three types of species that are generally being grown. Each of these have different needs so the person needs to understand how these are able to bloom and survive given the environment. The first type of orchid is called the Epiphytes. The individual should place this plant on a high shelf or stand so that it can live and grow near to its natural habitat since this species comes from trees.
